Fruit cans
Would someome one please tell me how to make the fruit cans. These are so darn cute, but I can't figure out how to fill them without popping the top. I am sure you can cut the bottom out but how would you seal them back up? Please help!!!

You need to use a "safety" can opener to open the BOTTOM of the can. PC has a good one and I'm sure there are others out there. The key is that the opener has to cut the side, not the surface, of the can. Then, the metal will either stick back onto the can or you can use some Crystal Effects. I speak from what others have told me, but I haven't actually made them myself (yet). I'm still collecting cans for a stamp camp! :)

Fruit Cans
Hello,
I just saw this the other day, and the way that my demo did it was to cut the bottom of the can off and then put something different in the can as a surprise. She then turned around and sealed it back up using crystal effects on the part she cut off. Hope this helps. Tanya |
Thanks!I can't wait to get home and try this.

There are some great samples in the gallery, click on "anything But a card" then click on "contain yourself"
Here are a few fruit can ideas.... and there are many more in the gallery!!! http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=3832&page=1 http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=3832&page=6 I'm looking forward to making these myself.... now if I can just remind my kids to open the fruit cans from the bottom. |
I got the can opener from Pampered Chef when my demo first showed me the fruit cans. She is also a PC demo. The opener was $20 and works really well. When I showed the cans to a friend she told me she had bought an opener just like that at Marshall's for less than $8. It's a little less sturdy, but works just as well. Just thought I'd share ...
