I made a bunch of beautiful pins and magnets last night with dominoes and Ranger Alcohol Inks. I bordered the edges with metallic pens. Do I have to spray these to seal them? If so with what? Krylon?
Hi,
I used a Minwax product called Polycrylic protective finish. It's water based and a clear gloss that I believe makes them beautiful. I tried future floor polish but I didn't get the look I wanted with that. HTH.
I decorate dominoes with Stazon. (I pat it on with a Kleenex and blend the colors, then I stamp a design on top of the background.) I have found that they do need to be covered as the coloring gets worn off. I'll have to try the Minwax. It sounds like a great product.

PegMn....I was at wal Mart and took a look. Do you use the spray Polycrylic or the kind you would brush on? Also, gloss, semi gloss or satin? I looked like a deer caught in headlights while in the hardware section. There were just too many decisions for me. What do you find works best?
I smooshed my dominoes into a versamark pad when I was done coloring them then used embossing powder & heat set them. It worked well. I mostly use iridescent ice which gives a nice sparkle to them.

Thanks to everyone...will try the Krylon on some and the other ideas as well...I do like the idea of smushing them with versamark then embossing...would give a nice effect.
