Frosting
I was looking at some cards and it mentioned "Frosting Technique". Does anyone know what that is and how it is done??
|
I'm not sure what cards here use that technique because I haven't searched for it, but here's a blog that might help. The frosting part is under step #4. HTH
|
Now that is wild. I have never heard of this. I wonder if it has a smell/odor at all??

Frosting
WHat a great idea.....I can see it on snowmen. snowflakes, all sorts of thing. Love your cupcakes....They are fantastic. Your daughter is lucky to have such a talented mom!!!!!!!!!
|
This is interesting. I am going to have to try it.
|
What a fantastic idea. You have a very lucky little girl.
Do you think you could add a teeny drop of vanilla so they would smell sweet too? |
Ladies....I've also purchased embossing paste that was called frosting. It's used with brass stencils. Totally different process than what is used/done in the link shown in a previous post.
The link shown previously reminds me of when I was a little girl. We made clay with just salt, flour and water (obvioiusly in larger quantity than the link states. Patti |
Cute idea but I remember making this for maps in grade school and as I recall it did nasty things to the paper. I may have to try this out on some scrap and see how it reacts over time.

too cute

I've also seen somewhere that you can add frosting to the edges of cakes/cupcakes with sticky strip/red line tape - you twist a length of it together and then stick it on the edge of your cake and cover with glitter. It looks really pretty
|
I use either the embossing paste or I just go to the hardware store and buy some spackling. It works just like embossing paste and is much cheaper.

I recently used Marvy Puff Velvet Fabric markers on a cupcake card. It colors like a regular marker and then you heat set it. The heat gives it a matte, dimentional look. To give it a little more of a "bumpy" appearance, I went back and dotted more on once I heat set it the first time, and it didn't cause any problem. The markers come in sets in a variety of colors, I just have the Primary color set.

Frosting
Hi:
That looks really cute too. Much easier than mixing the flour, salt and water and probably much less mess. Where did you find the markers? Thanks, Stampin' Senior |
senior, I bought mine at jo-ann's but i'm sure you can get them at any fabric store.
|
That is so cool! I am going to have to try that one. :D
|
Wow! I'm gonna have to give this a try.
