Default Frames for name frames?

I'd like to make some name frames, but can't figure out where to find frames. I assumed most people were using panoramic frames (4x12) but I'm having trouble finding them. What size frame is everyone using ~ and where are you finding them?!?

Thanks, in advance, for helping out a novice name-framer!

you can find some nice wood ones at WalMart - they are on an endcap near the frames. I've also bought some cheap ones at The Dollar Store, and just removed the picture that was in there. I was at my LDS yesterday and they have a ton!

Thanks for the unbelievably quick response! I'll try both places tomorrow. What sizes, roughly, are you using?

I purchased my for 3.00 at Michaels...It had some ugly flower picture in that I just removed. Go searching for the ugliest pictures and you'll find the frame

I have used the wood ones from Walmart and they work well. They are about $2.50 (right now they are on clearance though at my store - $2 each). I don't always like the wood color, so I sand it, paint it white, and then sand again to distress it. The size of the Walmart frames is like 6x12".

I live in Missouri and our Walmart has them on clearance for $2.00 also. I bought four frames to make "name frames" for my four kiddos. Our store has them all the time in the frame isle. They have a paper insert that looks like it holds a team and individual picture in it... just toss that and put your project in it. I overlooked them several times because of that insert... silly me!

Thanks, all! Spring is a very busy time for us with birthdays, showers and communions. With everyone's help, I think I'll be set to make LOTS of name frames for all of those occasions! Gotta say: my first ever post turned out to be super helpful! Wonder what took me so long?
