I just bought 3 beautiful Spectrum pads, and I want to use them, but I am a little stumped!
Everyone, please share your favorite NON-BRAYER uses for these pads!
I can't wait to hear how you stamp with them, stamp sets you use and projects you make!
Thanks so much,
Alicia
As soon as I saw your post about spectrum pads I was ready to reply with favorites...then I saw "non-brayer". I love using my brayer with them, so I am of now help. I'm interested to see what some of the non-brayer uses are out there.

hmmmmm
Like the above post, I too love my spectrum pads with my brayer! You can use them for watercoloring images using your blender pen, and you can use them with very small stamps to have a variety of colors. I personally haven't been able to use a stamp with the multicolors and like how it looked. I have tons of these, so I will watch this post for some other "creative" ideas. I only use min with my brayer!
Which one do you have, Alicia? I use the fall colored one with Fantastic Foliage and make a simple card with the sentiment stamped in the middle and different leaves stamped all around it, finish with a ribbon or coordinating eyelets if you wish! The bright colored ones like fiesta and celebration make very easy birthday cards. Stamp them with the birthday cakes and candle sets. I also still have the older fish stamp set and I almost always stamp it with a spectrum pad! I am going to make my own baby colored one some day (I don't care for the colors in the taffy spectrum pad) to use with baby rattles, feet, bottles, etc to make and easy baby card.
I just made several easy cards with the pad that is closest to Late November. I just got my Petal Prints in early Sept., so I am still having fun playing with it. I used US vanilla and stamped first layer full flower with the stem in this pad (I actually have Creole Spice, the older Kaleidacolor pad, but I think they are very similar!) I stamped the top of the flower in the blue/purple side and the stem in the mustard/old olive side. I stamped the leaves (in spectrum) from this set on another piece of vanilla CS, then layered the flower on top with a small sentiment stamped nearby, finished with a couple of eyelets at the top of the flower and a some of your fabulous cream narrow organdy tied around the bottom of the flower! I layered the flower on Night of Navy and the leaves on More Mustard, but Old Olive (I am out of this, gasp!) works well with this spectrum pad as well. This card looks like I colored it with markers, but the spectrum pad did all the work for me! If I could post it, I would but I will send it to you instead!
Use them with larger stamps to have a "rainbow" of color. Be sure to snap the pads together before you use them. I love doing it this way with the tulips from Spring Garden!
Use with small stamps with only one color from the pad. It's like having all of those colored pads open at once. Keep the pads apart for this use.
Use it with phrases or greetings that have 2 lines. Match up the middle in between 2 colors and each work or line will have a seperate color. Snap pads together.
I have a love/hate relationship with my brayer...love to use it, hate to clean it...LOL
I completely do not get how to use a brayer with the spectrum pads. It just escapes me. I use mine for all sorts of things. Mostly flowers and word sayings, though. And I think they look better with stamps with bolder images rather than thin lined images.
I just got some spectrum pads (50% off at Hobby Lobby this week!) and I've been going crazy with my Little Layers II and Little Layers Plus sets! The background in the spectrum and then an image in black!
LOTS of fun ideas...thanks to each of you for all the great input!
Kymber, I have come to the same conclusion, that they work better with bold stamps than line stamps.
Laurie, I can't wait to see your sample!!! Alicia
