Ok I am using a brayer for the 1st time. I have the glossy paper from SU but am using Paintbox pigment ink spectrum pad. It was the only one I could find with the colors I needed. On the sample I was using as inspiration you could tell the paper was glossy and it retained it's smooth feel after the ink was on. Mine does not feel like that, it has a very flat paint feel and if you scratch it the ink comes off. What step did I miss or what did I do wrong??
Thanks for the help
Becca
It sounds like you did it right? I have done the exact same steps and didn't have problems in the past, possibly the ink is bad?
THe below shows how to do it step by step only difference is that they are using watercolor paper and no glossy so it isn't that 'shiny' look: Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
Sorry I couldn't be more help, best of luck!

Unfortunately, I think the problem is that you're using pigment ink rather than regular dye-based ink. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a spectrum pad w/ the colors you want, or you can make your own w/ an uninked pad and some reinkers.
If you use pigment ink in the future, you can try heat setting it, and I wonder if heat embossing it would work as well. I can see it being really nice with something like Irridescent Ice....
