Felt on Tile??

I have felt that I need to put on the bottom of some tiles for my mother in law, and I am wondering what adhesive you all might use, I tride CE and it doesnt' work well at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just buy the little felt dots. Perfect size and they already have adhesive. Just peel and stick!

OK, I am cheap. FOr 29 cents you can get a piece of felt and cover the bottom of at least six tiles.

I use E6000 to glue it on. Have one over a year old and have never had a problem!

BUt yes the felt dots are easier!

Sereikastamper 11-16-2004 06:25 PM

hmm...E6000...I have that so I will try it next time...I like CHEAP! more to spend on postage! LOL

I run the felt thru my xyron.

I found thin round cork circles at the Dollar Tree - they were over by the picture frames - in one $1 package there is enough for at least 8 tiles (one in each corner) - they are adhesive but I put a small dot of CE on them before I stick them on just to give it extra holding power

You can also find felt and cork circles at Home Depot (look by where they keep the safety items) but they are far more expensive (but a little nicer and thicker)

I used plain old elmers and the sheets of felt since that was what I had in the cupboard and so far it has been working.

I use Presto felt. It is a 9 x 12 sheet of felt with adhesive on the back. I comes in 5 colors. One piece goes a long way. I cut 1" x 1" squares (or smaller) for my tile corners.

I've used Elmer's glue and regular felt. I have tiles I did a few years ago and the Elmer's is still holding strong.

amyboomboom 11-20-2004 07:28 PM

Annette-Where do you find Presto felt? Thanks!

I saw adhesive felt at Tall Mouse yesterday... But I use my glue gun for my felt... I am too nervous to just put dots on the tiles. I just cringe at the thought of someone scooting one across my wood table!!! Also, wow... those tumbled marble tiles are TOUGH! I dropped one and it broke my tempered glass table!!!

I use clear, circular rubber feet. Peel & stick. I've seen these in a square shape as well.

I also use these rubber feet to protect cabinet doors and drawers where the door/drawer hits the frame. Kinda diffuses the sound too.

I also use them on the back of all hung wall paintings/photos/etc. (bottom corners) to avoid possibly scuffing the wall.

They also seem to be harder for a two-year-old to peel off than the felt. :D

I love the square cork coasters that you can find at IKEA...I used E6000 to glue them down...but will try my xyron next time.

I also used the self sticking felt circles from the dollar store.
You can't get them off if you try.

Presto Felt

Hi!
I found the Presto Felt (felt with adhesive on the back) at Wal-Mart for .87 cents a sheet. It was in the craft section of the store where regular felt is sold. It came in black, white, green, brown and maybe a few other colors. The dimensions were 9 x 12 and I found that scoring the sheet with my paper cutter into 3 X 3 squares, then cut :D them with scissors, and put them on the back of the 4 x 4 tumbled tiles worked great. It was easier for me to do it that way, rather than cutting little squares for the corners.
Just sharing what I did. Hope it helps.
Jenn

felt/tiles

I used my e6000 and love it! E6000 is the best. It always works! Another good thing about it is that if it gets somewhere where it shouldn't be, if you are patient and let it dry, you can pull it right off. Good luck!

ok that does it!! I am asking for a Xyron for Christmas!! I see more and more uses and reasons why I should have one. I just hope I can wait that long.. Got my felt buttons at Menards..

Fun Foam

Has anyone every used Fun Foam for the bottoms? I am thinking it might clean easier and also can stamp Stampin' Up Logo there if I wanted to sell.

Thoughts please. :o

I use spray adhesive! Works great and the spray will last you a long time.

Felt bottoms

I've used the small acrylic clear sticky peel and press ones that I bought at AC Moore. Don't remember what I paid for them.
