Default Trouble with sticky tape

Am I the only one that has trouble with the Tacky tape on the beaded pens? I've tried so many ways, and I have trouble getting it on straight or completely covering the pen. I have bought 1 1/16" tape, is that not the right size to buy? Everyone else seems to think these pens are such a snap!!! What is wrong with me? I'm on my way shopping this morning and will get a different size if that is my problem.

I have never used the tape on a roll, I buy the sheets of sticky tape (can't remember what it's called now, but it's in the same section as the tape). That way I can measure and cut out the size that I need to wrap around the pen. The sheets of tape have a liner on both sides, so it's easy to work with.

If you want to use the tape that you have (as I know how expensive that stuff is), just wrap it around and go down until you have your pen covered (cut it off as the ends meet and then start the next row). that tape kind of mushes together, so if you overlap the seam won't show.

Good luck and have fun!

The skinny tape that SU sells is hard to use for beaded pens. I don't know why that is the only size they sell! Maybe next year when they see how popular it is, they'll sell more variety. I recommend going to www.pennywisearts.com. She has different widths of tape, as well as sheets which are much easier to manage. Plus her prices are terrific, and great service.

I use the sheets as well and have had no problem. At a scrapbook weekend I was at a few weeks ago they showed the pens with the thin tape wrapped around it sorta spiraled....does that make sense??? It took me a couple of tries to perfect my "style" but once I got it right I got it right
