Default Ripped cardstock: Shattered Glass

I did the shattered glass with pearl ex technique, and my cardstock ripped when I pulled the tape off! :( I was planning on teaching this for a class, but don't want to teach it if the cardstock rips every time I do it... Any help welcomed!

Default try this...

before you put the masking tape on the cardstock, put it on the leg of your pants and take it off a few times...this will make the adhesive not so strong but will still adhere to your cardstock for what you want to do. hope that helps!

Thanks! I actually ended up using the clear acrylic sealer on the cardstock before I started putting the tape on, and it didn't rip. Thanks for giving me another option for the class!

I use the blue painters tape for this technique. It is not as tacky as the regular stuff.

Try using painters masking tape. You can buy it at the hardware store. It is specifically made to adhere to wallpaper and can be removed without tearing the wall paper. It works great on card stock and is very good when using stencils and embossing paste.

I sprayed black cardstock with temporary adhesive, then I took one long piece of floss and put one tail down on the paper and then started shaping it into various sizes and shapes. Then I used different shades of pearl ex in each of the floss shapes to get the stained glass effect. My windows are very small and the floss made small areas. I prefer to use floss since it makes all of my lead the same size and it is just one piece to remove. It pulled off very easily.
