I have seen lots of beautiful acrylic albums and want to try one myself. I have one question, and it may be a stupid one. But, do you cover the pictures with anything to protect them (acetate)? Or are they just glued back down and the picture exposed?
I just bought my first acrylic album and so have another question that might be equally stupid. =)
I've seen lots of albums using our 2 sided paper, but if I'm using 2 sided paper, how do I adhere it so you don't see the adhesive on either side? I've tried stickers, but you can still see them. Am I missing something really simple?

Ashley, that's a really good question I hadn't thought of yet. What type of adhesive would you use that you wouldn't be able to see from the other side? Any suggestions from anyone who has done these? Thanks, Tanna
Would it work to cut the paper just a pencil line wider than the frame so that when you press it in, it stays in by itself?
I don't honestly know that I understand what you mean. The album I have is just flat 6x6 sheets of scalloped acrylic, so there's no "frame" to put the paper in. Does that make sense?
I got so frustrated last night, I gave up and have returned tonight to attempt to finish. I can tell you the one thing I did learn is that our new rub ons are really cute on acrylic!
I'm just at a total loss on this one. The one thing that has been 90% successful is planning the pages so that I have "hiding" places for adhesive and glue dots to hold the card stock so you can't see it on the other side. Example: I put the letters to spell "freind" on one side and put glue dots behind the letter on the other side to hold my two sided cardstock. In that way the cardstock shows, but the glue dots don't.
There surely must be a better way! As I said earlier, this is my first acrylic album, and I am STRUGGLING. Any suggestions from the pros?
I'll post a photo of mine, if I ever get it complete!

While I haven't tried this yet, I thought you put paper on one side and another the same size on the other side so you can't see the glue in between???
What about vellum tape or something like that? Or even a modge podge type adhesive? Or Diamond glaze? I really don't know because I have never done one, but I say a really cute one on ebay.
I was just thinking of this today...I was in Archiver's where I live and I saw an acrylic album another woman completed and it was so beautiful. Does anyone have a reputable source to buy these albums from or did you just construct your own. I was thinking of attempting this type of album...
I did a search on google for Ali Edwards and wow, I found a LOT of stuff but I"m not sure that I actually found her blog, nothing with an acrylic SB at all. But this sample shown above is so cute!!! I didn't realize that people actually sell them as a kit, I figured that it would just be a matter of going to Home Depot and having them cut some plexiglass for you. A kit would be great....maybe I'll have to call Archiver's and see if they have anything like that. Jan
I Just went to Lowes and they cut the plexiglass and I did the rest... it was fun and I used the cropadile to poke the holes in the plexuglass... USE YOUR SAFETY GLASSES<PLEASE!

I didn't see anything at Archiver's when I was there...however, the woman brought hers in to Archiver's for the staff to look and everyone loved it...I did get to find one on Ebay and it should be here before Friday...it was froma company in Utah that makes them for another company to sell...I will let everyone know the qulality when I get it...if I can just buy plexi at Home Depot then I can make filler pages, etc...
I knew there would be great help from this board!!!!
I've wanted to do one also and found the following company to purchase, but havent' done so yet....a little intimidated They have all sorts of shapes and sizes with tips and ideas. Have Fun!
