faux stitching

Since I don't even sew buttons that fall off, so please tell me how you do faux stitiching without actually sewing.

one idea is Hero Arts has a zig zag stitch rubber stamp that looks like the real thing when stamped. Otherwise I just grab a fine line sharpie marker and make my own.

Here's the scoop from the faux stitching queen herself.....from an earlier post

I use the Paper Piercing Tool, the Piercing/Hole Guide, and the Piercing Mat from the SU! Crafter's Tool Kit.

After piercing the holes, I "connect the dots" with the Uniball White Gel Pen. You could also use other pens, but that one really "pops", and appears amazingly realistic.

If I'm working on a curve, I do the piercing free-hand.

You can also use a perferating tool to make holes. Ionic and Cutterbug (?) make handheld versions. But the Fiskars trimmer has a blade too.
