Default How to do Etched Glass Stamping???

Does anyone know how to use do Etched glass stamping? I'm trying to figure out if you have to put the etching cream on the stamped image or how you go about doing it. I've seen some nice etched glass items on here and am curious how to do it! If anyone can help me out here, I'd be grateful!!!

Thanks!
Anna

I didn't know about the versamark/embossing technique. I have tried the contact paper and cutting thu it with an xacto knife. It is very time consuming but well worth the results! TFS.
