Eyelets 101???
Can anyone give me a dummied-down version of how to put an eyelet into a card? I'm a new demo and I have NO idea!! Thanks in advance for overlooking my lack of knowledge!

Place a 1/8" hole in the cardstock. You can do this with either a handheld punch or the anywhere hole punch. Place the eyelet into the hole. Smooth finished side of the eyelet goes on the finished side of your card. Take the eyelet setter (it could have a nub end or somewhat pointed end) place that nub into the back of they eyelet and tap the back of the setter with your hammer. Of course there are now at least 4 versions of hammerless setters--if you have one of those types these instructions are useless.

PaperRapt said it perfectly! I would only add to make sure you know what size eyelet you are using. The most common is the 1/8", but there are also 1/16" usually for bradlets (but there are some tiny eyelets out there) and then there are larger ones -- 3/16". You can buy a "kit" that includes a hammer, a setter, and a hole-punch (which usually has all three sizes).
If you need to see pictures - I know I do - you can go to the following site: http://www.impressrubberstamps.com/i...t_eyelets.html Good luck and HAVE FUN!!! |
