Eyelet setting tool with spring
 

I bought one of these thinking that it would be better and more considerate than hammering away at 3 am, but am having a lot of difficulty with it. My tool has a spring in the middle and you just pull up and let go, the spring action generating enough power to set the eyelet, etc...

I have a bit of carpal tunnel, and this action just kills me, whereas any of my other crafting NEVER bothers me. Anyone having same problem? Any solutions?

My girlfriend and I both have this type of setter. She was also having a lot of trouble and pain when using her. I advised her to stand up and to change the way she held it.. hopefully this will make sense with just words... When you grab the ball to pull up do not put your finger tips on the side of the ball. Curve your fingers under the ball so the ball is resting on top of your finger tips. Then lift up and open your finger tips to release the ball. It takes much less strengh than if you are trying to lift AND hold onto the ball at the same time. Good Luck!
