Different name, but same technique (forget the K-Pad whatever that is, use a Stampin' Up! pad):

The way that I've seen this done is that you really get your cardstock wet. Ink your stamp up and stamp on the wet cardstock. Repeat at least one time. Then air dry or use your heat gun to dry the cardstock. When cardstock is completely dry, then stamp the image again. So you have a really nice stamped image on top of all the blurred lines, so it looks like you've painted. The results are gorgeous!

Isn't a "K-pad" a Kaleidacolor pad? And wouldn't a person be able to use a spectrum pad available in the catalog?

DebbiS 02-05-2005 05:29 PM

May be. I just never heard it called that before. I thought it was a brand name.

K-pad and spectrum pad are the same thing - YES they would work for this technique

Impressionist Watercolors

I love impressionist art, I love flowers, I love Penny Black, I love watercolors, I love stamping, I love Kaleidacolors/Spectrums, I'm just flat out in love. Printing up all this stuff is running me out of ink, but gotta have it in my notebook of neato stuff. Kathy

Is this technique done on regular CS or on glossy CS?
Thanks!

musicmarth 02-10-2005 10:40 AM

I think that regular CS probably gives you the best results. I haven't tried in on the glossy...

IMO, best results are with SU's shimmer white CS

Do markers work as well

Anyone know if the SU! Markers work for this method? Have to try it out and see but thought someone would know.

Any type of stamp or stamp set that you'd recommend for this technique?

I haven't gotten any of the shimmer white yet. I'm going to have to order some at our next group meeting. I want to try this along with all the Sketch challenges, the prismacolor pencils, etc. etc.

Yes! We made some pretty tags at my workshop on Saturday. Used shimmery white, and inked up More Petal Prints with markers. Just gorgeous, if I do say so myself!
