Explosion Box-What Wire?

What wire do you use in an explosion box if you want to put flowers, butterflies in it, popping up when the box opens? I thought floral wire but that bends too easily. My very fine monofilament doesn't work either. TIA.

I think it was done with little strips of acetate.

You could wrap your wire around a knitting needle (or something similar) to make it like a spring and that may work. The one I saw used strips of acetate.

Take a look at Elaine's blog for some ideas with the acetate.

Hi Cindy

Wire isn't good if you want them to spring out. Like Shannon and Monica have said - it's acetate you need.

I have a tutorial on my website: magic boxes tutorial - it's a free tutorial and I think it may be what you're looking for.

Hope it helps - let me know.:D
