I have learned so much in the past few months on this site...when the lightbulb went off over my head last night, I decided I would share something with others who might also be new at stamping. Drum Roll Please? ;)
I have not really ever been a big fan of the clear polymer(?) stamps because, for me, they just did not stamp well at all. Very light, not at all "crisp" and overall, just a pain. Well, last night I figured out what I was doing wrong!! I had gotten a big lot of Cat's Eye inks on Ebay and those are what I always go to because of the color choices. Well, some are chalk and some are ink and I guess that makes a difference!! The chalk was not sticking well to the stamp but the ink was just perfect!! So...lesson learned is that for the red rubber, chalk is a dream (for me) but for the clear, always use ink.
If this is a *duh* moment for seasoned stampers, have a laugh on me, it's ok, I understand :p But for new stampers, this might help even if just a little bit

if you ever have problems with ink 'sticking' to clear stamps try inking it with embossing ink first, stamp it off on scrap and then reink using your choice of inks...works like a charm for me each and every time.
