Default Exploding Box

Here are directions for making the exploding box pictured here:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Supplies: 8 ½? square cardstock
5 ¾? x 7 ¾? cardstock
Rubber stamps
Ink pads
Embellishments

Steps:
1. Stamp the 8 ½? square cardstock on the one side (this will be the outside of the box,) turn over and stamp the other side of square cardstock (this will be the inside of the box.) Measure and score 2 ½? on all sides of the cardstock and fold all sides inwards. This is the bottom of the box.

2. Using the bottom side of your cardstock, score from one corner of the center square to the corner edge of the cardstock. Repeat with all four corners. Turn over and crease all folds. Bring sides of the box together, folding the paper inward.

3. Measure and score 1 inch on all sides of the 5 ¾" x 7 ¾? card stock. This is the lid. On the short (5 ¾“) sides, measure and score another inch beginning from the previous 1-inch measured mark .

4. Fold all scored measurements inward to form your lid. Cut four 1-inch squares from the corners. The creases will show the lines to cut the squares. On the short (5 ¾“) sides of the lid, cut a 1-inch tab on each side.

5. This is the time to decorate your lid.

6. Bring the two tabs inward on the box and tape. You will fold over the end folds and tape, creating the end of the lid. Do the same method to the opposite side of the lid. Put the box and lid together.

Default ERROR IN BOX LID DIMENTIONS

I JUST TRIED TO MAKE THIS BOX AND THE LID WAS 1/2 INCH ALL AROUND TO BIG. NEW MEASUREMENTS FOR THE BOX LID SHOULD
BE 5 1/4 X 7 1/4 THIS WORKS MUCH BETTER!!!
IT IS VERY EASY TO MAKE - MEASURE TWICE SCORE ONCE!!!!
