Envelope

I want to get into card making. Does anyone have ideas on making envelopes for cards using the box envelopes you buy at the store? The ones you mail regular mail in. Thanks!

Personally, I would buy one, unpeel each side and trace it onto another piece of paper.
Score where the folds are.

I usually just buy my envelopes. I find them on clearance and make my cards to fit.

Do you mean cutting down the longer, letter size envelopes like regular letter-size mail goes in, to make them fit cards that you make? Offhand I don't know an easy way to do that.

But a lot of people who make cards use a piece of cardstock 8-1/2" x 11", cut it in half the long way, at 5-1/2". Then you fold those pieces in half to make a card that is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. You get 2 cards from one piece of cardstock that way.

This size card is sometimes called "invitation size" and you can find envelopes for this size card at many places. Office Depot, Staples, even Walmart and Sams. If you have print shops nearby, they will have "invitation size" envelopes to fit this size card.

Hope I understood your question right.:)
