When I heat emboss my paper curls... any suggestions? I am not holding the gun to long because the paper starts to curl before the powder melts!!! thanks all!!!

Are you using a high quality card stock? I have never had that problem with my SU paper.

I have found that my S.U. paper will curl a little sometimes. I find it works well if you heat from the top moving the gun in circles then from the bottom if you get curling.

If there's any curl left to your paper (after the embossing has set) you can smooth with your fingers: gently--so as not to crease it--curve the paper in the opposite direction of the curl (like when you were a kid and rolled your pictures for Mom then had to roll them the other way to get them flat). It sounds like work, but it's a quick fix. Another option is to set it under a heavy book for a tiny bit to get the curve out. Happy embossing,

I've had paper curl on me when I was using paper that wasn't very heavy. When I use 80lb or heavier paper I've never had the problem that didn't correct itself when the paper had cooled.

someone once suggested heating from the underside of the paper to prevent the curling. haven't tried it yet.

I just tried this yesterday and it was much more effective than my usual response of putting the card under heavy books - and much quicker.

I had some card curl on me recently and I just turned it over and heated the other side and it straightened straight out.
