embossing question

If I want to emboss only parts of a stamp can I stamp the image in dye ink then use a glue pen on the parts I want to emboss, apply the embossing powder and heat?? Seems like this should work but wanted some of your expert opinions before trying it. Thanks :)

i use the versamark pen to emboss only parts of the image!
