embossing problem
 

When I emboss, the cardstock tends to curl. What am I doing wrong. I'm using all SU supplies, but a Darcy (?) heat gun. I'm trying to hold it just close enough to get EP to melt-but the cardstock still curls a little bit. Help!

Mine sometimes does that too. I don't know what to tell you except you are not alone. To me it seem to happen more when I'm embossing a big area (ex. background stamps).

Are you heating from underneath or from the top? Would doing it from both directions even out the curl?

I don't think it matters what products you are using or your techinque. You're applying heat to paper and that will just make it curl. I would suggest that you heat the EP from above and then underneath - that might pull out your curl.

Are you keeping it in one place too long or are you constantly moving it around.
I usually will heat in a circular motion so that I am not in one place too long.

I usually take my large acrylic block and set it on it after I emboss...it flattens the curl right out! I do this all the time when I finish cards just to make sure everything is stuck on securely. Hope this helps.

This is also very handy for flattening out curling shrink plastic too. ;)
