Embossing Powder problem

What do you do when your embossing powder sticks to your plastic tray? Every time I use it, I end up with EP stuck all over it. I've tried tapping it, rubbing it with the embossing buddy and brushing it down with a soft makeup brush. I still get EP (and lots of it!) which clings to the tray. I end up rinsing it with water and sending the EP down the drain.:( I'm tired of wasting EP! Any suggestions?

I have never had large amounts of EP stick...I wonder if you got something on your tray??? I usually wipe with my EB then use a paint brush to put it all back in the bottle.....no problems....

I usually end up with some stuck to the tray also. I use a baby wipe to wipe it out.

I've heard of using a dryer sheet to wipe down the tray to prevent the cling...not sure if it works, but you could try that...

Do you wipe the tray with the embossing buddy first?

I have the same problem. Before use, I have tried wiping the tray with an embossing buddy, and with a dryer sheet, and neither of those have worked for me. I am not sure what else to try.

I stopped using the tray (it was the same sticking problem and took too long to clean up) and just use a scratch piece of printer paper and dump back into the embossing power container. Sure makes my short amount of stamping time go further. :-)

A Swiffer cloth works well too. But yes, I always lose some powder that sticks in the tray.

I've had this problem with my Michael's brand tray!!!!! but my Stampin' Up trays are as smooth as silk, no real problems whatsoever. I'm not sure what the difference is, but i'm happy now with my new ones (both big and small)!

I use printer paper as well...it works well and you don't have to have extra storage or waste time & water to clean it up!

The answer to end all problems

Coffee filters......perfect size, easy to funnell, cheap, no stick, easy clean up....just throw it away. This is what I reccomend to everyone that takes my classes.....they love it.

the paper and coffee filter tricks do work well. For EP that I use regularly, like clear, white and gold, I dump a jar or two into a rectangular plastic storage tub with a lid (like the ones you get at the supermarket for leftovers). I dip whatever I want embossed directly into the tray or I use a small spoon to sprinkle the EP over the image while I hold it over the try of EP. Nothing goes to waste, anything not used goes back into its little storage box.
