embossing
I am new at stamping & I have done heat embossing at stamp camps but could not do it on my own when I started my own cards over the weekend. Please explain technique again. I stamped image with stamp pad, went over it with versa mark, put glitter on then heat but it came out too watery. thanks, valentinejacob |
Embossing
I think it would work better for you to stamp directly on either an embossing pad, a VersaMark pad or a craft pad, put the powder on, (get rid of extra - I like coffee filters best for this, which I learned here on SCS), then emboss. White craft (pigment) pads work wonderfully. I like them better than embossing pads. You can buy one of those really inexpensive little square pigment pads at any craft store if you don't have one already. Hope this helps. - Gay Howe

Whoops - not glitter. Use embossing powder (which you can also buy anywhere).

I wrote about my experience with this as well: http://seitlerstamps.blogspot.com/20...embossing.html

Are you heating the powder too long? It shouldn't be watery. As soon as you see the powder start to melt move your heat tool right away, the heating/melting process is just seconds. Hope this helps.
