Emboss Resist Technique

Ladies ~ what works best....US papers or glossy? I have a group of friends who want to get together tomorrow and I'm just wondering which one works better.......I don't have time to compare today as I have a house which requires cleaning before our dinner guests arrive tonite...part of that cleaning means putting away all my projects (on my dining room table) which will take about 3 hours in and of itself!!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give me!

I have always used the glossy paper with almost any type of resist technique that I've done and have never had any problems. HTH!

I prefer using glossy on any resist technique. I works on the US White, has a more matte finish than on the glossy. HTH

I've always used glossy

Ditto, always used glossy, in fact, had to run out and buy a bunch today to start the Emboss resist for a technique swap. Since we are getting a blizzard tomorrow, should have lots of time to stamp.

do you mean embossing in clear and then sponging around? I have always used regualr b/c the ink on glossy takes a bit longer to dry. I think either would be pretty. :D

I have the glossy white, but have yet to use it. Once I get some white crayons I'll try the crayon resist, but for embossing resist I've used both the ultrasmooth and the confetti cardstock with wonderful results. While the glossy is supposed to be better for crayon resist, I think you can use any light-colored neutral cardstock for embossing resist.

Once the image is approved, you can check the latest addition to my gallery for a resist card using US Vanilla.

I...

I have used both.

Glossy: requires less ink since it will "spread" on your paper.

US: requires more ink since it soaks into the paper.

Both achieve basically the same look. I have had a bit of a problem keeping my embossing powders from sticking all over my glossy CS though... I'm not sure why. I prefer the US white personally.

ME TOO!! I did some Joseph's Coat last weekend and could have cried...I didn't notice until it was too late that there was EP stuck EVERYWHERE on the paper......and I did a full sheet!!
Man, was I ticked!!

I just used the US and it was lovely...and instead of sponging or daubing I used the Canvas stamp with great success!!!! See it here
