Edge distressing
I've done a lot of paper tearing and other distressing, but how do you get this sort of distressing on the edge of the paper? Is there a particular technique to achieve it? I've seen it on a lot of cards on here, but never seen it in person.

Stampin Up carries a tool on a keychain called a Cutter Kit and one of the tools is a Distressing tool that creates that kind of edge.

Thanks Mary. :) Was wondering if there was a tool.. or just a technique.

I use an old pair of scissors. Hold them open and rub the edge of the paper in the "V" of the open blades. Don't know if I explained it well enough. Let me know if you need more info.

there are a lot of these tools available now

I really like the distressing tool on the cutter kitt tool or sandpaper

A seam ripper (used for sewing) will do the same thing. Plus you probably already have one! Give it a try. Just "drag" it over the edges of the paper as much as you need to for the desired effect.

another vote for the scissors, i've got about 10 pairs lying around, so they're always the first distressing tool i reach for. just run it in the "v" of the open blades until you've acheived the effect you wanted.
