dryer sheets

Does anyone have the directions on how to use the dryer sheets? I have all the sheets saved but can't find the directions on how to use them. I would love to see some examples too.

Thanks so much

Don't you just put them in the dryer with you wet clothing?

The only thing I know about using dryer sheets in stamping is that my friends and I use them to remove static from cardstock before heat embossing. We just rub an unused dryer sheet across the paper and then emboss as usual.

Dryer Sheets

You can use dryer sheets on your cards not just for the dryer.

Stamp an image on a piece of paper/ card stock. Color it as desired. Then get a plastic grocery bag. Go in a well vented area recommend outside. You need spray adhesive. Spray the adhesive on the stamped image. Then place dryer sheet on your image. may have to press down. Let dry.

Tips:
Dryer sheet works better flat not wrinkled up. You can also adhesive the dryer sheet first and stamp on it. Gives a little different look.

Missed something put the grocery bag behind the piece of paper with your image. To catch the over spray and avoid stickyness.

When I use them I iron them 1st then stamp my image on the cardstock and apply a glue stick to every inch of the cardstock them put the dryer sheet over it and cut to fit the cardstock.
For added effect my upline said then to lay it upside down in a dish or the tidy tray that has Dazzling Diamonds in it -It sticks from some of the glue kind of seeping through the dryer sheet.Looks really cool!!!

Does anyone make non-smelly dryer sheets?

Tokane4 03-29-2005 06:33 AM

StampinCPA - you can get bounce sheets that are called Bounce Free. They hav no scents or perfumes. We get them because of allergy problems, but I use them for stamping also sometimes.

I love this technique and have done it at my shows too. It is one that will make anyone go WOW!!

Stamp your design on u/s white with Staz On. then color your image, I found that if I use the Pure Color pencils or the Metallic pencils there won't be any smearing at all. (when I use the markers, some of the colors would run slightly.) Then take white glue (I used Elmers) and spread on top of your white sheet, use stipple brushes to spread it all out, you need to completely cover this layer, (do it quickly because the glue will start to stick to the worksheet under your layer) Then quickly lay your dryer sheet over the top, (I iron my sheets after they have been used so they lay nicer and cut them in half so I can get 2 cards out of each load of laundry :D ) The glue will smoosh though the sheet then I sprinkle dazzling diamonds on the top (use your fingers don't pour it on or it will be way too much glitter  ) Then trim the excess dryer sheet off attach the layer to your card and you are ready to send it off.

Was that clear as mud?? PM if you have questions.

At Chrismas I used the snowmen in the Flaky Friends set, very cute! And have done with the flower sets for a real elegant look too. Love it!! This is a favorite of mine lately. I will see if I can download a sample too.

Have fun with this one!

Does anyone make non-smelly dryer sheets? was the question... Yes bounce makes a Free of perfume dryer sheet. I use it all the time due to skin allergies some of my familiy has. Sometimes I can't find it in the stores,so I keep looking in a few others and then buy a couple. :D

Dryer sheets

I used wrinkled or scrunched up ones. I put some glue on the card and let what ever sticks to the cardstock. I don't push the dryer sheets down I let it stick up from the cardstock. Then I put a cut out picture on top of the dryer sheet. I also took spider writers and decorated the dryer sheet.
LeeAn.
ps. I tried to emboss the dryer sheet and it melted. Buy a coffee filter you can emboss.
