Question VersaMark and Embossing Powder

I am VERY new to stamping and I am TOTALLY HOOKED!! I think I heard at the SU party I was at last week about using VersMark and embossing powder.

Do I just stamp the VersaMark, cover the images in embossing powder and let it dry? Or do I have to heat set it :o too?

I want to learn as many easy techniques as I can until I get better at it.

Thanks for your help!!

You have to heat set the embossing powder, or else it will just wipe off after the versamark dries. Plus, with the metallic embossing powders, they don't become metallic until you melt them by heat setting!

Have fun!

Hi Karen,

Check out the resource section. There are a lot of techniques shown step by step. If you check out Embossing resist

Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers

You will see how embossing is done in the first five steps. Unfortunately you can't see the embossed image because it is stamped in versamark on white cardstock and embossed in clear. But you will see how it's done nevertheless.

Hugs and smiles.

I've used silver embossing powder with silver pigment ink -- and it looks great. Really pops!
