Dry Embossing??

I need some advise. I have been searching the internet trying to get ideas for making my sisters wedding invites. She wants a 5x7 invite and we want to do the pocket fold. That part I have figured out. We are using Melon Mambo, silver and shimmery white CS. The outer layer is Melon Mambo and I'd like to run it through the Big Shot to emboss it BUT one, I don't own one and 2 I don't think the CS will fit. So How can I do this? Is there a product that will allow me to do that without using heat embossing? I just want to dress up the outside of the card.

I just went through this problem with my son's wedding invitations. They wanted an embossed front (actually, they wanted the texture plate impression) on a 5 X 7 gatefold card. Just couldn't get it to work no matter what I tried. I ended up with texture on the whole thing. If you're doing embossing folders, think that it would work, depending on the folder. The card stock will fit as long as you are running it 5 wide and 7 long. The other way, it doesn't fit. Hope someone has some great ideas for you. I ended up heat embossing the one's for my son. Thank goodness I only had to do 60! Please share when you have them finished.

Sometimes local stores (like Archivers) have a station with the die cutting/embossing machines set up for customers' use. They have the larger industrial ones, so larger sizes of cardstock will fit. There's usually a small fee to use them if the cardstock isn't bought at the store. You might have to supply your own texture plate.
