I'm looking at the cap and wondering how to create the cap and nestle the "head" of the snowman into the cap. Darling card!

Thanks,
Kelli

P.S. The original creator, Doris Denman doesn't have a blog and I'm not a demo, so I can't access the stampin connection website to find further details, but I love this layout and want to CASE the Snowman for a card front.

I think the cap is just made from an oval punch and a circle punch with a slit cut with a craft nife for the head to slide into the cap.

I'd say the blue part of the hat is an oval punch, though she doesn't have one listed. Hope you figure it out - that is soooo cute!

The blue part of the cap looks like it's the X-tra Large Oval punch that was slit with a craft knife like InkeePhingers said. It appears that it was sponged to give it dimension before it it was placed on the snowman's head. the red part is a circle punch that has been run through the Bigshot with an embossing folder.

I've seen this snowman before and I love him too....Definitely CASEworthy!

The blue part actually looks cut and layered over another full oval, rather than slit...

Inky and Dini, I agree with you both. The hat probably is an oval punch, that would explain why it looks like the head of the snowman was slid under the slit with a bit of blue on both sides to look like he's wearing a hat. That seems simplest to me.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much for all the responses. Sometimes it takes a "second set of eyes" to see something that's not obvious to one (me).

:)

ETA: Looking at the original link above, it does look like Dini suggested. Thanks again!

Really like the card you found. Please post if you make one.

I've been working on large swap and realized what I have done isn't going to work. I put an older saying on my card. Now I need to take apart the two parts of card stock so That I can put a new backing on my card. I tried using dental floss two separate the two pieces of card stack but that didn't to work without bending the paper. TIA

Thanks!

Thanks, Mopzsix,

Her technique isn't quite what I was looking for with the hat, but I did learn a couple of neat tricks.

Thanks for finding this and sharing it here.

For the body she used 4", 2 1/2" & 1 3/4" xircles. The hat is a 1 3/4" circle, using a Wide Oval in front & one behind his head for added depth to make the hat brim. I hope this helps.
