Question I want to design digital diecuts!

With my new interest in paper crafting and diecutting, and still trying to patiently wait, 1) To go back home to my stash of all things crafty and 2) for the Silhouette cameo to release.... It just occurred to me the other day that i could design svgs while i waited, to get the hang of the idea and to have personalized projects to do when i got back...

Also, since i fixed up a website on weebly.com... (shameless self and weebly promotion: EmbeeArqam.com - Home it is the EASIEST web developing tool i've come across yet! ) i wanted to do a series of giveaways, to people who have digital die cutting machines, so they could try out my designs and see how they work... the problem it seems is that, although, i'm not too shabby at drawing, i seem to limit myself to drawing in solids in freehand, and therefore seem to be getting neither the results of a pure vector or freehand....

I am working in Adobe PS CS5, putting everything on a dfferent layer, which i will re-allign separately, save as a jpeg, and then as an svg through the silhouette software... hopefully (it works in theory in my mind..)

So is there another way to go about it? how do you guys go about your designs?

I'll be putting up the attached image as a freebie tonight with a little adjustments and hope to get some reviews on how it works....

I think this place- UKScrappers- may be exactly what you are looking for. They are listed as Craft Robo templates/tutorials etc, but as you probably know, that was the original name of the machine that was marketed over here. It all works on the Silhouette, and the Wishblade. I do notice that everyone seems to use Inkscape or Illustrator, rather than CS5- I have been readoing a lot of these myself, to get my head around designing my own stuff. HTH
