Different embossing on the same card

I see many cards that have two or three different embossed items on the same card front. How do you do that?

Do the examples you're referring to use dry or wet embossing? If you could give a link to an example, I'd love to see what you're talking about.

The risk is that the heat gun melts the finished image while working on the next image. So I cover the finished image with cardstock scrap and aim the gun such that I melt only the embossing powder on the next image.

If you mean dry embossing with embossing folders, you can emboss half of the card front with one pattern and the other half with a different one OR you cut two pieces that will fit your card base, emboss each with a different pattern, cut both in half and glue on your card base. You might want to then put a ribbon around where the two pieces fit together. I've done some cards both ways.

You can also "double emboss". First you emboss your card with one embossing folder, then emboss over it with a different folder.

Sorry, was out of town during the weekend. I meant the dry embossing. Thanks for answering.
