Default Stamping on Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

Hi. I want to stamp over my alcohol ink backgrounds with a nice rich black ink. I have read that Ranger Archival ink works over alcohol ink backgrounds. Do any other black ink pads work? TIA!

I used StazOn ink, as seen on this card from my gallery. I think archival inks would work too.

I've also had success with Tsukineko Brilliance, but it takes longer than Archival or StazOn to dry, and you'd want to experiment with your surface first.

What substrate are you using? That will make a difference too.

My vote would be for Stazon Pigment ink, but I haven't played with any combinations yet. I'll try to do that this weekend.

The cards look beautiful. The black images look deep and crisp. Just what I am looking for. Thank you.

I always use Staz-on - I've had too many smudges when I try other inks. And I do the stamping in my MISTI as things are less likely to slide or shift a bit. Here's one using Staz-on:

I've also used Versafine Onyx Black and then very carefully heat embossed with clear embossing powder, as in this card:

Just a note: Stazon can stain stamps, esp clears.

While looking for another question on AIs I found this:
