Cuttlebug Tutorial Needed!
 

Having just purchased a new Cuttlebug machine today, I used it~following all directions BEFOREhand, only to find that the die, when placed foam side up, left a cut impression on the plastic "B" layer. WHAT did I do wrong?? The direction book has no suggestions. All helpful suggestions as to how I am supposed to use this tool would be GREATLY appreciated. THANK YOU!!!

It's OK!!! You're doing everything exactly right - the cutting dies are supposed to leave an impression on the "B" plate.

I have the BigKick and it does the same thing. The plastic cutting plates (B plates) protect the bottom spacer and the top roller of the machine from being marked by the cutting dies. Eventually, you'll need to replace the plates - replacements are available separately; they're not hideously expensive; and they do last quite awhile.

I've read that some people kind of protect the top plate by putting an extra layer of cardstock between the piece they're cutting and the B plate. It still marks the top plate, but not as deeply, I guess. You have to be careful, though - if you make your cutting sandwich too thick, the plate will crack from the pressure of the roller.

Sandie, that is what happens with the "B" plate. Every cut will leave a cut mark. No problem at all. No worrying...just have fun...Sharen

It is important to rotate plate B though. This way you will get longer use out of it.
