Cuttlebug Embossing and Coloring Image
Can you emboss with the Cuttlebug/Die Cut Machine and then colour in the image that you have embossed on the card?
I am going to purchase a Cuttlebug (most interested in embossing right now, rather than die cuts) but I want to know how versatile the embossing is. If the embossed images can be coloured, what techniques (pastels, pencil crayons, inks) can be utlized? Thanks:D |
There are lots of ways to do this. To get some inspiration, go to gallery and put cuttlebug in the search window and lots of creation come up.
I made a card where I inked the negative side of the embossing folder and it makes it look kind of distressed. You can also rub the ink pad directly over the already embossed CS. Here is the link to my card http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=119136 Chalks and daubbers work great too. HTH:D |
Very pretty example, Sabrina! Here's Kurtis's tutorial for that technique:
http://www.stampinkub.com/tutorials/...cuttlebug.html The card that popped into my head when I read Monizcel's question was this one by Trudee: http://trudee.blogs.splitcoaststampe...tel-cuttlebug/ There are lots of gorgeous examples of Cuttlebug images colored with chalks/pastels in the SCS gallery. Here are a couple of searches: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...astels&x=8&y=8 http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...alks&x=11&y=10 And here's one colored with Prisma pencils: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...tby=v&way=desc Hope that helps! Thanks labullard for those links - it's just given me some inspiration to get my embossing folders out again - only trouble is, it's 22:57 here in the UK now which is a bit late to start............... never mind, it's all book marked to have a go tomorrow.

Here's one I did just last week
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...00&ppuser=5896 I went over the embossed cs with white craft ink with a sponge dauber and then used shimmer chalks with little pom-poms over that. |
I used acrylic paint and crystal effects to do mine -

A friend said she runs CS through w/ Swiss Dots, colors the dots, the runs that piece through another folder; can't remember which one though.

Wow! How clever these are.

What inks or coloring technicques can I use directly on the cuttlebug or spellbinder die cuts that will wipe right off?
