I tried the technique that Julia S. used on this precious card:

This is what I got. What did I do wrong?

Looks like it was not dry?? Maybe it takes more than 24 hours in humid weather or something?

Julia S 08-14-2006 03:34 AM

Hmmm...I'm not sure. I never had a problem with mine. It does look like your paper glaze ran across the page. It may help to keep your paper perfectly horizontal so that it doesn't run. Also, is Alene's paper glaze that you used a little thinner...you may want to try crystal effects.`2

Thank you ladies! It was not dry & definitely did lean a tiny bit & run out. Maybe the Aleen's is thinner. I haven't used CE, so I'll need to check that out. It was really weird to see that happen!

Thank you both for having words of encouragement in your signatures. I read the Verse of the Day & am now singing the song in Julia's signature! What a good way to start the day!

Oh, I didn't describe what you're seeing in the picture. The pictures that are still visible did not have glaze on them, except what ran onto them. The rectangles that are all funny colored used to be pictures! I had printed them in black & white & also Sepia on opposite sides of the page. I ended up using the sepia colored ones to try this. Wonder if that made a difference? Or just cheap glossy paper?

very cool- I am going to try this!

I just used some Staples Business Depot high gloss paper for inkjet printers.

HTH,

HTH,

That helps. I did use inkjet gloss paper. It was from the $ store! I'll try again after I get more black ink! Will it work on color, too?

Julia S 08-14-2006 09:47 AM

Color....something I've been meaning to try.:) It should...it is the same ink and the scrapbooking mag I got the idea from used color pics of flowers.
Hope it works for you....make sure your post a link back to this thread. I'd love to see the results.:)
