Crinkly Seam Binding Ribbon
I keep coming across cards made with seam binding ribbon that is all crinkly. Cards like this one. But I haven't come across anyone who has shared how they do it. I tried heating it with my heat gun and nothing happened. Then I tried wetting it first, then heating it and still nothing happened. Does anyone know how to get this look? Thanks in advance for your help!

Here is a great video tutorial... Video Tutorials - Tammy Tutterow
I think the secret is to wet it and scrunch it and let it dry. |
Thanks for the link to the video Kathy. Figures it's something simple like wet, scrunch, let dry!

The only hard part is waiting for it to dry. lol

I stick mine in the microwave for around 2 minutes in 30 second intervals. Zap it for 30, take it out fluff it up so all parts of ribbon dry evenly, pop it back in for another 30 seconds, etc.

When I know I want this effect I wet my hands and roll the seam binding in a tight ball and let it dry. Then I go ahead with making the card. By the time my card is ready for the ribbon to be added it is dry and I just put a strip of tape across where I want it and stick it down leaving the wrinkly texture.
