Wink CREATING YOUR OWN MULBERRY PAPER

Now please don't laugh, but I'm new to splitcoast so this might be just old news but just the other day I wanted some pizzaz to a christmas card I was creating for a Christmas Card class I'm doing in a few weeks.

I wanted some gold mulberry paper and didn't have any. I did, however, have some USED dryer sheets and I took a versamark pad and rubbed it over the used dryer sheet and proceeded to pour gold embossing powder on it. After tapping off the excess, I embossed it and it came out SPECTACULAR

Is this something that I just haven't seen yet or is this a new and cool invention that I have just created that you can all try for yourselves? Just LMK as I'm excited to see if I might have come upon something.... I would love to hear your input direct at my email [email protected]

Thanks, Angie

Hi Angie, Some of us been using used dryer sheets in a few different ways including "faux Mulberry" but I don't think I've seen them embossed yet! I might have to try this!; I have dyed the sheets either in a little bit of water mixed with re-inker or by rubbing the ink pad directly onto the sheet; thanks for the cool idea! I've been looking for metallic paper for my Christmas cards; maybe I'll try this as an accent instead!

Kathy: I wanted to share how I create faux mulberry. I take the used dryer sheet and put it in a ziploc bag and add 3-4 drops of ink depending on the color I want. Then, I take a water bottle and spritz water into the bag until its good and saturated. I take the air out of the bag and then mix it around (less mess and then voila, faux mulberry! I lay it on a paper towel until its dry and it works great! Try it out and see what you think! Angie

Thanks Angie.. I have one of my downline who keeps saying she needs to buy some but if she can do this and get the color she really wants that would be even better!
