Default Embossing Metal Magic Tags

I need your help, ladies! At my first workshop I had a question I couldn't answer and I can't find the answer anywhere! How do you emboss on the metal magic tags (for example, sample 218A in catty)? I looked in the "recipe" but it didn't give me the answer. SU doesn't seem to have that in any of their technique listings. Help!!

Thanks!

GASP - no catalog on me right now. That looked like impression embossing to me (copper on copper In Full Bloom tag, right?).

I would think you could put some versamark down on the tag, pour on powder, heat. Keep doing layers, then stamp the versamarked flower (or whatever) into the still-hot EP.

I *think*

I looked in the catty, and I beleieve Jenn is dead on. At the top of the tag it looks as if the the EP isn't quite even. And since they listed gold brads, I'm sure they embossed the brads too!

I bought some metal tags at JoAnn's last week when they were 50% off. I embossed them using the Versa Mark and Gold Glory EP, it worked like a charm! Just be sure to hold the tag with a pair of tweezers while heat setting.

Default metal tags

So, do you smoosh the tag in Versamark after each application of embossing powder? Versamark, powder, heat set....versamark, powder, heat set??

I run the embossing buddy over the metal tag. Stamp the image with Versa Mark, sprinkle the embossing powder over the stamped image, dump off excess embossing powder and tap the tag on it's edge to remove any extra powder then heat set. It's easy, give it a try!

I just tried it and it's beautiful! What I did was take a metal magic tag, smoosh it in versamark, emboss the entire tag using classy copper embossing powder, let it dry then repeated that process. When the tag was still hot, I stamped the pumpkin from Little Layers II in the center of the tag. I did ink the stamp using Versamark before stamping but I don't know if I needed to do that. Anyway...it turned out great!

OK Jenn. You're a junkie. You knew exactly what she was describing. LOL. Maybe we should have a skill testing question! Was it the first, second or third item on the page!??! ;) (And I don't know that answer because I was so late getting off my butt this morning I FORGOT IT ON THE COUNTER!!!)

Default Impressed Embossing

Has anyone tried this on those Ready-to-Make Walmart frames? I was going to give it a whirl but won't waste my time if someone has already tried and it didn't work.
