Crayon Resist

What is this technique and how do you do it?

Here is Beate's tutorial:

It's super fun! I have several examples in my gallery.

I have a question about this technique. Help me out Beate, anyone !!! I have been hoarding my DD's white crayons for awhile now. But, which stamp sets does this work best for? Should it be a detailed stamp or what? Also, I don't have a brayer - so how do you "run" the ink with the sponge? I'm dying to try this - but I'm a dork.

"Dork" my foot...! I've done crayon resist on both fine detailed and very open-lined images. It's an awesome look either way! Might want to keep the point sharp on the smaller details though...

As for the sponges, that's all I've used so far...dab, smoosh, twist, rub...if the ink isn't dry it will wiggle (as opposed to "run.")...

Hope this answers your questions????

<snort> Dork......geez....

Hugs,
Betsy

Resist

To be honest I have never used the crayon I went and purchased a resist pad and I think would be so much easier then using the crayon. Wel I guess it would depend if you were wanting to draw your image or use your handwritting.
