Craft Fair
Hello ladies, I would like to get your advice on craft fairs. I have never done one but was thinking about getting in one in march for a spring festival. Is this a good one to get into being my first and what kind of stuff sells in the spring.

It is a lot of work to do a craft fair but isn't bad if you start early enough. I haven't done any in the spring so will look forward to seeing what is recommended as I might be doing one in May. . .

spring fair in march would be great you have both spring and Easter time theme to work with and from doing shows for past 6 years I love spring before Easter best. you could even start offering Mothers day items!
|
You could even include some graduation items.....cards or gift card holders.

I have done one fair in early March, I had items for Mother's Day, graduation, baby cards, and weddings.
Good Luck with this venture. |
when doing graduation cards & gift card holders. check out your local colors. i always make some for each of our local schools & colleges.
good luck |
when I do spring fairs...I focus on cards for men...birthday...mothers day...fathers day...easter. Easter is great because you can create little treat boxes. Bookmarks are great too. Something that sold well in the spring was a premade album with graduation and summer themes. Best of luck to you.

My advice would be to not undercharge for your things. I've seen so many people sell their lovely cards for only $2-$3
I sell lots of cards in a gift shop for $7.50. and I'm in South Carolina where unemployment is higher than a kite and we're all poor! lol I charge 12.50 for the covered mini legal pads and 10.50 for the covered post-it note pads. Several people here on SCS have said that covered composition notebooks sell well. |
