Your work is beautiful. It seems when I look at the markers there are different kinds of copics. Could you tell me what kind you use? I've just bought one marker to play with and I really like it and am thinking about getting a set.
Thanks!

Thanks Debbie, I use the Ciao copic markers. I bought the sets from My Favorite Things on-line. This marker is the exact same quality as the sketch (refillable ink and nibs) but cannot be used with the airbrush system....hence a little cheaper.
I didn't go for the Original Copics as I personally don't like the nibs it comes with.
They do blend so well, I just love mine!
Happy Coloring!
Hey Diane, Love the tut. Do you use a special paper? ie smooth as opposed to something with 'teeth' or roughness? I didn't see that you used the blender pen either. Hmmmm. Thanx much!!
No I didn't use the blender pen, although it is a good tool to have. I often use it if a color has gotten too dark on me and I need to lighten an area. I used Papertrey white cs. Yes, I do think the smooth papers are good for copics. I haven't had sucess with SU cs. It's too absorbent so the color tends to bleed in instead of remaining on the surface so I can blend it. My two cs choices with copics are the Georgia Pacific (Walmart) cs and the Papertrey. I have heard others have had success with the Neenah cs as well, hope that helps!
Sure does help! Thnx much. I find it strange that with other mediums they tell you to start with the lightest color and blend in and the Copic tut you did, starts with the darker colors first. Whodathot!! I gotta go play!! Thanks so much for your tut and the info.
Thanks, Sherrie!
This is just what I need! I just got my first Copics today! I went downtown (Chicago)so I could pick them individually at Dick Blick. It was great because I took Jeanne S.'s color list down with me and I could try all the colors out. I bought 25 to start- mostly in fall colors. I got them for $4.22 a piece with the 10% educators discount. (My hubby is a principal, so the clerk said he'd give me a card.) I've never tried them before, but I'm anxious to try. Plus,I have an order ready to go at Cornish Heritage Farms, and this stamp is on my order! I really wasn't sure if you could use Copics on an image like this, but now I see that you can. Your work is beautiful. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Thanks for the inspiration! I have 48 copics and I swing back and forth between wanting to buy them or wanting to sell them. Im so used to watercoloring that when I use my copics I get all nervous and scared! Why a marker scares me I have no idea.
Anyway, your tutorial has inspired me to go practice my coloring! And hopefully with practice getting better then ordering more!
