Default Small CB embossing folders

Apologies if this has been covered before, or I'm in the wrong place.

Ages ago (I'm guessing 2-3 years) I read of someone who cut the 2" square embossing folders apart and used a double plastic strip cut from a stationery folder to assist in positioning the two halves accurately in the middle of a sheet of paper (if you use them as they come, you can only emboss near the edge). Can anyone lead me to a link telling how she did it please? This is to answer a query on another craft forum I belong to - I remember reading, but since I didn't bother to try it my recollection is imperfect to put it mildly!
