Color Blocking
Hi everybody,
I love the look of cards that are color blocked. But whenever I've tried to do one, it takes a LONG time of measuring. Does anybody have any "tricks" or techniques that make it quicker and easier. I know you can buy templates, but I was hoping not to have to buy anything. Here are just a couple examples: Duffel Bag Inspiration by jillastamps - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers baroque motifs by Ruthiemarykay - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers Thanks! I've never done it, but why not try to take a piece of scrap paper, draw the layout you want, cut it apart and use the pieces as your templates? If you get a design you really like, glue the pieces to CS and use them over and over. The black strips, which appear to be like a stain glass leading, can be cut and glued on top and that would cover up any narrow holes which might occur in the initial blocking.

So glad to see this question posted!
I've been wanting to try some coloring blocking too, but wasn't sure exactly how to go about it! Shirley6176 your idea is great!!! I think I will try to come up with some cardstock templates for my stash!! Tammy Also on the one card it looks like the card base is black....looks like that would work too! |
