Question What is this called?

Hi Ladies-

I was recently looking through the gallery at the bareback site and found this really neat card made by labullard called the bareback tri-fold. And I was wondering what it is called when she took and stamped the two horse than only colored the baby horse. I have seen this technique done with many other cards and what to learn what it is called and the directions on how to do it. Thanks for your help!

Here's a blog entry I made about spotlighting: http://seitlerstamps.blogspot.com/20...tlighting.html

Hope that helps!

ps. all you need to do to link to a card is to copy the address and paste it in your reply.

Hi everyone! I already pm'd Melissa about this. Actually, that "spotlighted" part of the Bareback image is what is showing through the window on a tri-fold card (I used Cambria's pattern). The inside image of the mare and colt are completely watercolored. The tricky part was lining it up so they matched on the front. In order to visualize what I did, you have to look at the three views of Cambria's card here:

Nicole - that Toile Blossoms spotlight card of yours is one of my very favorites! I CASE'd it too! Thanks again for your detailed instructions.

Thanks for saying that, Linda. My whole goal with my blog is to be helpful. I'm glad you enjoyed the directions and were inspired by the card. Looking back at that card now, I see lots that could be improved in the design and layout. :p I don't profess to make the cutest cards...I just know I can talk a lot about how I made them. LOL!
