Chipboard???
 

I've seen some neat mini albums recently and the instructions call for "chipboard" - does anyone know where to find this? Thanks in advance!! Beth

Chipboard is pretty much the cheap cardboard that you find on the backs of notepads and in packages of scrapbooking paper and such to keep them rigid. You can usually get it by going to your local scrapbooking store and asking if they have some they can give you for free....most of them have tons of it from all the paper they have to order and are happy to give it away.

I use cut up cereal boxes, or poster board for my folding albums :)

If you need a larger piece of chipboard (larger than what you would find on the back of legal notepads) you will see them in art supply stores. They come in thick and thin varations. Good luck! I love using thin chipboard for the front and back of handmade books. It's very easy to work with, and thin enough to sew through on my sewing machine.

Most print or copy shops would have this as well....aif someone came in and asked for a piece, I would probably just give it to her....but if she wanted more, I would charge something. While I do get some chipboard in certain packages of apper I purchase, for the most part, paper does not come with a piece of chipboard. I have to purchase it - by the case no less - so I would feel comfortable charging something for it.

I ordered my chipboard from the Sizzix website. www.sizzix.com.

I bought chipboard from my local printer. The 8.5 x 11" sheets were $.05 each. Really cheap.
