Default Flowered Heart Tutorial

Hi everyone, I have just posted a new tutorial on my blog called "Flowered Heart Tutorial."

I saw a card online at Watermelon Sugar, fell in love with the technique and then changed it around a bit.

Hope you like the tutorial (just in time for Valentine's Day : )

I forgot to mention that you can use other ways to color the flowers as well, try the technique where you put distressed ink on a craft mat and then spray the ink with water then smoosh your paper over the ink, or try this with reinkers, or.....use whatever you have on hand to create a soft wash of color.

And...if you want to use just a few flowers you can stamp your heart with some flourishes underneath : )

Oh my, how beautiful. I'm on my way out the door but will take a look at your tutorial later tonight. Love that bird, too. Thanks for sharing!

Went there, saw the tutorial, loved it and can't wait to try it myself. Perfect for Valentines using the heart instead of the oval like you suggested. Thinking I'll also use your suggestion of stamping swirls for my heart background and use Distress inks for the flowers and the leaves for DH's Valentine card this year.

Thanks again!

I just saw another way to embellish your heart, with small butterflies! The card was posted on the Hero Arts Blog posting for today, here is the link. (scroll down a bit).

Imagine what other shapes you could fill your heart with, ie, small hearts, punched dragonflies, or any cute punch shaped : ) And you could also jazz up the image by using some versamark and sprinkling mica powder on the paper before punching.
