I don't usually put inserts in either, because I make card fronts from my colored cardstock, and adhere them to a white card base.

But occasionally I will make the card itself from colored cardstock, and then I cut the insert from white cardstock, and make it 1/8" smaller all around. I have rounded the corners, or used the ticket punch on the corners to "fancy" up the insert a little bit.

Or try a Top Note die or one of the larger die labels from Nesties (which by the way, Nesties are on sale 50% off at Hobby Lobby this week ) I've noticed alot of people putting things inside their cards lately. I really like a dark mat with a white or cream topper..something that matches the outside.

I'll use the scrap paper left over that I used on the front of the card as the base paper in the inside of the card and layer a lighter cream color paper on top. I don't get to intricate on the inside of the card because by the time I get finished with the front of the card, I'm kind of tired of looking at it!

I generally make my card front and attach to a white card. Sometimes I'll create an insert with my Nesties too.

thanks for all you ideas.didnt thinkof using the bigger nesties for the inserts will try them. Plus I like the idea of using the scrap paper from the front of the card in a small way inside to tie both the front and inside together for a more finished look.
