Default Shaving cream technique in scrapbooks?

One of the ladies at Sun's Stamp Camp fell in love with the shaving cream card we made. She has booked a party and wants to use this technique for a scrapbook page. Does anyone know if this is OK for photos?
TIA
julia

I tell my stamper's 10 that it is up to them if they want to use it in their scrapbooks. I point out that our paper is archival, and so are our inks---HOWEVER!!!!!--I cannot guarantee that the shaving cream is archival quality. It has a scent, and a color which would imply to me that it has some acids, which means it is not archival safe.

Let her know all of this, and then decide if she still wants to use it in her scrapbooks. If she does, I would suggest that she use it as an accent on her pages, and NOT put photographs on top of it!! She would run the risk of them being ruined. She could journal on it, but again, runs the risk of it being ruined with time.

Personally, much as I like this technique, I will never use it in my scrapbooks!
HTH!

Most soaps are basic...the opposite of acidic on the pH scale, but can be just as damaging long term. I probably wouldn't put shaving cream in my scrapbook, but you do have some options:
Color copy the shaving cream (you could make several copies if you had a sheet tht you loved, too!)
Back the shaving cream paper with white or vanilla (take advantage of the buffering)
Spray with a buffering spray (this would be my very last choice)
At any rate, if you do put it in a scrapbook, keep it from touching the actual photographs, if you can...use it instead for borders, journaling boxes, whatever, but avoid the pictures.
