Brayer?

I was looking at the Joseph's Coat tutorial and was wondering how you get the specturm pad colors using the brayer to look so nice like in the sample picture? I have tried it an mine just doesn't come out looking like that. I seen different ways to use a prayer but nothing that explains how to get the colors to comeout so nice. Can anyone help on this.

Thanks,
Keawe

Make sure your ink pad is full of ink before you load your brayer. I stand up and push hard as I bray across my paper. But, I do best when I re-ink my ink pad first before braying. Good luck

Maybe it has to do with how you are loading your brayer. Do not just roll the brayer back and forth. Start on one side of the pad and roll across to the other side. Then, pick up the brayer and replace it on the starting side and roll across again. Do this a few times before rolling ink onto the paper. If you are getting dark lines where the edge of the brayer rolls on the paper you can lightly blot off the edge before rolling on the paper. You can also roll back and forth over an area to help even out the color.

What kind of CS are you using? I'm not very good at it myself, but I do notice a big difference when I use glossy vs regular cardstock. But I have to use the techiques they mentioned above too.
